The greatest amount of resale condominium units sold by unit type was 2 bedroom suites which made up 40% of the total number of resale units sold in 2013. This is very similar to both 2012 and 2011 in that 2 bedroom suites where also the greatest amount of units sold by unit type for both previous years.
What’s In Store For The Yorkville Toronto Condo Market In 2014
Two condo projects, the New Residences of Yorkville Plaza and 77 Charles West are scheduled to register in 2014 adding roughly another 540 completed condo units to the neighbourhood.
The New Residences of Yorkville Plaza is the conversion of the old Four Seasons Hotel tower into 493 condo units at 21 Avenue Road. 77 Charles West is an initimate luxury condo building of just under 50 suites by developer Aspen Ridge Homes.
There are several new condo development projects planned for Yorkville and two of them have already launched in 2014 and are now selling units.
The Cumberland Condos, a new second tower located directly south of the Yorkville Plaza (old Four Seasons Hotel), is already under construction with the excavation of the parking lot. This will be a 40 storey tower of 272 units with a scheduled occupancy for Fall 2016.
1 Yorkville is planned for the south west corner of Yonge & Yorkville across from the Toronto Reference Library and sits on the site of the Cookbook Store. This will be a 58 storey tower of 577 units with a tentative occupancy date of Fall 2018.
