Green P Parking Garage & The Shops of the Village Arcade
50 Cumberland Street & 37 Yorkville Avenue
Located west of Yonge and east of Bay Streets, this garage is directly south of the New Four Seasons Hotel & Private Residences. The footprint of this property expands across the entire city block as it fronts on both Yorkville Avenue to the north and Cumberland Street to the south. The six storey garage has both a retail component with the Shops of the Village Arcade including Dinah’s Cupboard and an office space component.
The developer Minto has purchased the property from the City and unconfirmed reports suggest the garage will close in 2012 and a two tower condominium project consisting of 46 and 56 storeys high will be built on the site.
Howard Johnson Hotel 89 Avenue Road
Freed Developments has bought the Howard Johnson Hotel in Yorkville at 89 Avenue Road. The site has a forty-five foot frontage and is sandwiched between the Hazelton Lanes Shopping Mall to the south and the 99 Avenue Road Private Residences condominium to the north. The developer has not yet released their plans for the eight storey building.
Hazelton Lanes Shopping Centre 87 Avenue Road
On October 19 2011, the sale of Hazelton Lanes Shopping Mall was completed. First Capital Realty Inc. purchased the 205,000 square foot shopping centre for $110 million. The mall’s best-known tenant is Whole Foods Market, the upscale organic grocer, who recently renovated and expanded their presence within the mall by 25%.
